This very special
property welcomes you to the very essence of the south of France.
The
Mas de Mont Counil is nestled among the hills of
the Garrigue, two miles above the small village of Gabian.
The property has a large (120 m2) living area, cosy sitting room,
good sized equipped kitchen, 5 double bedrooms – one with
shower, separate shower room, bathroom. Outside there is a large
terrace area and a large (50m2) pool.

The owners, Ticha (French) and Ray (Engish) chose to create a house
that is as near to nature as possible. The atmosphere is decidedly
informal and you must not expect to find precious antiques from
La Belle Epoque. Rather more practical, homely surroundings you
can really relax in and enjoy.

|
The spacious downstairs living area - 120 sq. meters - has a breathtaking
view across the pleasant terrace. Windows run all the way along
this side of the house and all bedroom windows look out to this
same landscape.
Next to the reception area there is a good-sized,
practical kitchen (15m2) with a big cooker, dish washer, micro-wave
and plenty of kitchen equipment and utensils. There is also a larder
with fridge, a freezer and generous shelf space.

Off the main room is a room that once served as a bar - now
converted and equipped with a double bed an en suite shower
room and WC. Upstairs there are four double bedrooms, all
with attractive low wood beamed ceilings, two with a double
bed and two with twin beds.

The smallest bedroom, suitable for small children with its single
beds, leads off the third bedroom.
The largest of the four bedrooms has a shower and wash basin and
there is also a large bathroom with a double wash basin, bath,
separate shower and bidet.
There is a separate toilet on this floor.

The country house, is surrounded by hills of the Garrigue. There
is an outdoor pool near the house and the house is let with a spacious
private outside area.
Beyond this there are two acres of land leading down to the bottom
of the valley.

|
The property is perfect for family holidays away from the crowds.
An unmade track leads you down 300 metres from the crest of
the valley to a small farm and then the house. Care should be
taken because sometimes this track is used by a chicken or the
odd sheep.
The owners are concerned that in this dry area of France water
must not be wasted. For washing and household purposes, water
is pumped from underground and the owners must be able to pass
by twice a week (at times fixed with guests) to maintain the
pump |

A 25 minutes drive takes you into the mountains, or lac de
Salagou - ideal for swimming, sailing, and wind-surfing.
It's also only about 30 minutes drive to the nearest Mediterranean
beaches. The nearest is at Vias Plage, a
very popular holiday resort. A newly renovated beach and lagoon
area means it's ideal for children.
A further 5 minute drive takes you to Cap d'Adge
and the many beaches, bars and restaurants of this famous
resort. With 14 km of golden sandy beaches, each offering
something different, you're never tired of something to do.

| Booking 'weeks'
are Saturday 16.00 to Saturday 10.00. We ask that guests leave
the accommodation before 10.00, and new guests arrive after
16.00. This allows time for our Cleaners to ensure a fresh
start for new guests.
The holiday home will be cleaned immediately after your visit.
It certainly helps when guests leave the villa in a clean
and tidy condition.

is available for local and incoming calls
Maid service may be requested for a supplement of 10 euros
per hour.
Linen and towels are provided free of charge.
There is a laundry room next to the kitchen with a washing
machine and spare fridge.
