Large property near lakes and with private pool

La Bergerie de L’Etang is the most magnificent property dating back over 200 years. It is built on the edge of the lakes surrounding Capestang and has wonderful private views over the lakes and marsh land. The house sleeps 17 and has a private pool.

It has been the family for over three generations and the proprietor has spent 3 years renovating the house to a particularly high standard. The Bergerie is full of charm, calm and comfortable, decorated in shades of pastel colours with a mixture of antique and modern furniture and with air-conditioning.

The house can be rented as a whole during July and August and includes a maid service and full board.

For the rest of the year, La Bergerie de L’Etang is a Bed and Breakfast, with evening meals on request.

The majority of the bedrooms have a kitchenette which enables house guests to do their own cooking if they prefer.



 


The Bergerie is full of charm, calm and comfortable, decorated in shades of pastel colours with a mixture of antique and modern furniture and with air-conditioning.

On the ground floor there is a large kitchen and sitting/dining room. In the summer months breakfast can be taken on the terrace with views over the lakes, marshes and swimming pool.

There is also a washroom including washing machine and dryer.

Chambre 1 : SLEEPS 5 Double bed downstairs, en-suite bathroom, WC, kitchenette & dining area. Separate double bedroom, single bed on mezzanine.
Chambre 2 : SLEEPS 2 A double bedroom (double bed) with en-suite bathroom and WC.
Chambre 3 : SLEEPS 2 A double bedroom (double bed) with en-suite bathroom and WC.
Chambre 4 : SLEEPS 4 A duplex with double bed upstairs in the mezzanine. Downstairs, two single beds, sitting room, kitchen, bathroom and WC.
Chambre 5 : SLEEPS 2 Double bedroom (double bed), en-suite bathroom and WC and kitchenette.
Chambre 6 : SLEEPS 2 Double bedroom (double bed), en-suite bathroom and WC.

 

 

 

  



 

 

 

  


It is built on the edge of the lakes surrounding Capestang and has wonderful private views over the lakes and marsh land.

In the summer months breakfast can be taken on the terrace with views over the lakes , marshes and swimming pool.

The Bergerie is within easy distance of Béziers (15km) and its famous World Heritage Canal du Midi that links the Mediterranean to the Atlantic. The Friday flower market (photo right) is a 'must see' visit.

The nearest village is Capestang – 5km where there is a supermarket.

The beaches of Gruissan and Valras are 25km. Tennis courts are in Narbonne – 8km. A riding school – 3km. Golf courses – 25km.

 

 

 
   


The sandy beaches of the Mediterranean are a short distance from the holiday villa: Portiragnes, Vias, Marseillan and Sete. The water is shallow for several metres and safe for young children.

Valras Plage (right) on the Mediterranean is a host to yachts and boats with a magnificent port, cafés and restaurants, as well as of course, beautiful beaches. Marseillan port on the edge of the Bassan de Thau (sea lake) has retained much of its original charm and nearby Sete with its crisscrossed canals is known as "little Venice".

Helpful Information

Booking 'weeks' are Saturday 16.00 to Saturday 10.00. We ask that guests leave the accommodation before 10.00, and new guests arrive after 16.00. This allows time for our Cleaners to ensure a fresh start for new guests.

The holiday home will be cleaned immediately after your visit. It certainly helps when guests leave the villa in a clean and tidy condition.
