Village house in Languedoc hamlet

A charming village house nestled beneath a 13th century chateau situated in the romantic hamlet of Margon, surrounded by vineyards and fields, and just 10 minutes from Molière's Pezénas.

The perfect place to experience the history and beauty of this wonderful region of France between the mountains and the sea. Built in 1682, this delightful house situated on Rue du Chateau, retains its original character and features, with a 2003 renovation designed for holiday comfort and enjoyment throughout the year.

The house has two levels of living space with two spacious bedrooms, living room, kitchen, bathroom and laundry facilities (washing machine and dryer).

Ground Floor
The front door opens onto the Kitchen with gas stove, new refrigerator, walk-in pantry, dining table and chairs. It also has a wood heater in the traditional fireplace for those renting in the cooler months and wanting to enjoy some old-fashioned heating (electric and gas heaters also available).

First Floor
On the first floor, there is a comfortable sitting room, ideal for chatting over an aperitif after a day exploring the region. There is a large sofa which converts easily into a very comfortable double bed.

The 2nd Bedroom (converted stables) has two single beds which can be converted into a double bed if preferred.

Second Floor
Stairs from the kitchen lead up to the Sitting Room, Main Bedroom and Bathroom. The easily accessible, newly installed Bathroom includes shower and WC.

Outside, there is a public courtyard area shared with La Petite Maison next door, where you can set up the table and chairs (stored in the cellar) to enjoy a meal outside or relax with a glass of wine in the evening.

The holiday home is next to the famous chateau de Margon, right in the middle of the village.

Margon - the village. You will be charmed by this village. The houses — mainly built in the 16th and 17th centuries — are tucked around the fairytale chateau. The Comte and Comtesse open the garden to the public from time to time during the year.

Just 10 minutes drive away, the historic town of Pezénas, with a lively weekly market, two large supermarkets, plus many other shops. Saturday's market is typical south of France and a 'must visit' thing to do.

Sandy beaches are a short distance from Margon: Vias Plage, Valras, Marseillan and Sete. The water is shallow for several metres and safe for young children.

Cap d'Agde (right) on the Mediterranean is a host to yachts and boats with a magnificent port, cafés and restaurants, night clubs, casino and every watersport imaginable. Marseillan port on the edge of the Bassan de Thau (sea lake) has retained much of its original charm and nearby Sete with its crisscrossed canals is known as "little Venice".

Helpful Information
Booking 'weeks' are Saturday 16.00 to Saturday 10.00. We ask that guests leave the accommodation before 10.00, and new guests arrive after 16.00. This allows time for our Cleaners to ensure a fresh start for new guests. A booking form with terms and conditions will be sent on receipt of an e-mail enquiry.	The holiday home will be cleaned immediately after your visit. It certainly helps when guests leave the villa in a clean and tidy condition. A washing machine and dryer is available for your use

Prices

The cost to book the holiday home for up to 6 people is shown right.

The price shown is the total rental for the week, NOT per person. It includes all linen and towels (except beach towels), electricity and gas.

A cleaning fee of 40 Euro is payable on arrival direct to the cleaner and key keeper.

25% of total holiday booking. Balance to be paid 8 weeks before start date.
