La Bergerie is an authentic Languedocian
mas situated in the heart of a very special wine domain, surrounded
by vineyards, woodlands and meadows but only half an hour from Mediterranean
beaches.
The buildings and château date back over 100 years but Bourgade
has existed since Roman times; as one American lady put it: "This
is for real!"
This property is part
of large domain which can accommodate groups of up to 28 people.

Bourgade is surrounded by 150 hectares of woodland, fields and
vineyards - our nature reserve. We have mountain bike trails
and nature walks that you can follow and mountain bikes are
available for hire.
Take a dip or sunbathe by the swimming pool serenaded by cicadas.
The pool is enclosed and surrounded by pretty colourful borders
of Mediterranean plants and flowers plus a lawn. Sun beds and
parasols are provided. |

Sandy beaches are a short distance from Bourgade: Portiragnes,
Valras, Marseillan and Sete. The water is shallow for several
metres and safe for young children.
Cap d'Agde on the Mediterranean is a host to yachts and boats
with a magnificent port, cafés and restaurants, night
clubs, casino and every watersport imaginable.
Marseillan port on the edge of the Bassan de Thau (sea lake)
has retained much of its original charm and nearby Sete with
its crisscrossed canals is known as "little Venice". |

Montpellier is the principal city of the region, with the
seat of local government housed in an impressive new building. The
city has the right mix of old and new. The old city contrasts with
the new shopping centres of the Triangle and Polygone. The centre,
Place de la Comedie, is pictured right)
The city is also well known for the outstanding new architecture
of the Antigone, which reaches from the Place de Opéra -
Comédie to the Regional building by the river.

| Booking 'weeks'
are Saturday 16.00 to Saturday 10.00. We ask that guests
leave the accommodation before 10.00, and new guests arrive
after 16.00. This allows time for our Cleaners to ensure
a fresh start for new guests.

or for long stay.
