Country House in Calvados set in 3 acres

A charming country house in beautiful Calvados set in 3 acres of cared for grass, a tree lined drive and a mixed fruit orchard.

Les Hirondelles has two double bedrooms, two bunk bedrooms, a games room with half-size snooker table, lounge, dining room, entrance hall, kitchen with all facilities and large utility room. It will suit those seeking the peace and quiet of French rural life.

In fact the pleasure of a visit to the area lies in the lush meadows, orchards and forests of the Norman countryside. The area is synonymous with cheeses, creams, apple and pear brandies and ciders.

There are forests, rivers and lakes for lazing in or for stretching the muscles, and everywhere there are classic half-timbered houses and farm buildings.

The three acre grounds are laid mainly to grass, with many native trees, a developing vegetable garden and mixed fruit orchard. In the garden area close to the house there is a small chalet with the BBQ, garden seating and a variety of games. To the south of the property from the front elevation of the house there are views over to the nearby Cerisy Forest.

There is a small village bar 500m down the road. A small local supermarket in nearby Moon sur Elles (2km). There is a bakers and butchers in the of Lison (2km close to Moon sur Elles). Le Molay-Littry is a small market town with larger supermarkets and all usual amenities.

The Normandy beaches are just 15km away, as is the historic city of Bayeux with the famous Bayeux tapestry (section shown below). The world heritage site of Mont St Michelle (photo below right) makes a fabulous day trip. Throughout Normandy there are numerous markets selling local produce which are well worth a visit.
