Charming south facing stone cottage with shared swimming pool

La Maison Verte has a rustic design with exposed beams throughout. There is one main bedroom. The kitchen is attractive and fully equipped with gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher and fridge.

It leads out onto a covered terrace over looking the pool, with garden furniture where meals or drinks can be taken. This is a nice area to shade from the sun.

Set in enclosed landscaped gardens which are completely secluded with private parking and large shared swimming pool. The property is not isolated having French neighbours nearby.


Large Cathedral town just 10 mins drive. Just 20 mins drive to beautiful coast with superb beaches and pine forests. Many attractions within 30 mins drive.

INTERIOR
  • The lounge is large and attractive with built in alcoves and wood burning fire. The seating area has settee and armchairs plus a bed settee
  • The dining area has a wooden table and chairs, a large dresser with crockery, glasses, etc. and a long sideboard
  • All doors lead out onto a paved area
  • The kitchen is semi round with contoured working surface. It is fully equipped with gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher and fridge.
  • Utility room with washing machine and freezer
  • One large double bedroom fully furnished with plenty of storage
  • The bathroom has a walk in shower, the toilet is separate

EXTERIOR

The garden has many interesting stone features and unusual trees and shrubs.

The pool area is in full sun all day which is ideal for sunbathing or enjoying the pool. There is shade in the garden and on the terrace.


 
 

 


Ten minutes drive to a large cathedral town of Lucon with many shops, bars and restaurants plus a local market. The Cathedral Notre-Dame de l'Assomption (photo below left) is superbly illuminated at night to show off it's wonderful facade and gothic steeple Ten minutes drive to the Floral & Tropical Park. Take a tour of the real world of exotic botany and see the beautiful Lotus flowers.

The coast is just 20mins drive passing through L'Aiguillon -sur- Mer. This is a little fishing port where they have the Oyster beds. It is a very un-pretentious port with lots of work going on, small boats are made and repaired here.

La Faute -sur- Mer is a pretty little seaside town, bustling in the season with a good choice of restaurants, also many little boutiques and attractive shops before reaching the superb beaches and pine forests. La Tranche-sur -Mer and Les Sables-d'Olonne are within easy reach.



 

 


 

 


La Rochelle (photo below left), which is approx 50min drive, is one of the prettiest harbour towns in France. It has beautiful architecture, ancient arcades and harbour restaurants. Ile de Re, which is known in this area as 'The White Island', is a beautiful island to visit and has many restaurants and shops. You can drive along the Island and visit the many small towns. This is a haven for cyclists or walkers.

Puy de Fou - take yourself back in time at this park which has a medieval village and offers a great day out for the whole family with superb falconry displays, jousting tournaments, gladiators in the arena, son et lumiere and many other spectacular sights, with 1000 actors and evening entertainments.

By Air:
Just 50 mins drive from the airport at La Rochelle or 70 mins drive from Nantes airport.

By Ferry/Road:
Caen is approx. 4hrs and Cherbourg is approximately 4hr 45min drive. The nearest port is St. Malo which is 3hrs 15min drive.
