In general we have large gardens with a large above ground swimming pool (9m x 4m) with sun lounges so you can either cool off in the pool or just laze around on the sun lounges and sunbathe. There is also an outside eating area.

La Scie is part of the commune of Limalonges. The land is mainly flat which is ideal for cycling and walking along the many country lanes in the area. The area is mainly a farming region that grows sunflowers, maize and wheat.

We are 5km from Sauze Vaussais where there is a large supermarket, boulangerie, hairdressers, banks and several bars and restaurants. We are also 10km from Civray with its lovely square where you can sit outside the cafe bars and restaurants. There is also the 12th century church of St. Nicholas with its Romanesque square frontage (photo below left), you can also go for walks along the side of the river Charente, also in summer you can canoe and fish on the river.

15km from Ruffec which has large supermarkets, shops banks, restaurants and cafe bars, all the local towns have local markets on various days of the week.

La Vallee des Singes (photo below right), the monkey park where you can walk amongst the monkeys, with over 350 free roaming monkeys and apes for you to enjoy their antics, with a feeding plan to help arrange your day out which is enjoyed by people of all ages. Chef Boutonne has a great fishing lake with carp over 30lb which is overlooked by the chateau and there is also a children’s play area.

Futuroscope (photo below left) is a hi-tec environment giving visitors a chance to experience adventures on the land, sea and even into space, using the latest technologies, many of the auditoriums will make you feel that you are really there, an experience not to be missed.

Zoodyssee is one of Europe’s largest animal parks set in the forest of Chize, you can see over 600 animals, there is a mini farm and children’s adventure area.

Maris Poitevin known as the "green Venice" it is Frances largest collection of man made waterways, hire a canoe and explore the area yourself or get a "platte" (photo below right) and have a guided tour. The main cities of Niort, Angouleme, Poitiers and Cognac are about 55km away where there are plenty of shops for those of you that like shopping.
