The sunny sheltered terrace is in front of the barn and gives onto a large lawned area with flowers and shrubs.

The views are over fields and there is a stream and pond and also a small boules court.

For day to day requirements the nearest supermarket is in Plougonven, 2 miles away where you will also find an excellent baker, and other shops and a creperie. 8 miles away is the beautiful town of Morlaix (photo below left) with its museums, cinemas, shops, restaurants and picturesque estuary.

The north coast beaches (below right) are superb and never crowded. There are good cliff walks, small fishing villages and resorts, all within a half hour drive.

There is a Golf Club at Carantec (16 miles away) which boasts a privileged setting at the water's edge in Morlaix bay. Facilities include a 33 bay driving range, 8 of which are indoors, practice putting greens and a practice area.

There is a Thalassotherapy centre in Roscoff (24 miles) for a day of luxurious pampering. Most towns have a market day when the streets are lined with colourful stalls and local produce is available, and a lunch at a creperie is traditional with a mug of Breton cider.

Quimper (below left), the oldest Breton city, is a 45 minute drive away and is worth a visit to stroll around its mediaeval centre and perhaps take a boat trip on what has been called "the prettiest river in France". Fairly close to Quimper is a remarkable Breton town, Locronan with a town centre which remains almost unchanged since the 16th century. Roman Polanski filmed "Tess" there.

In this area is also Pont Aven (below right), famous for being the chosen town of many artists, including Gauguin. The Ile de Batz- no cars permitted and some great expanses of sandy beach - is easily reached by ferry from Roscoff.
