Le Champ des Reves is situated on a cul-de-sac in a completely rural setting. The garden is hedged making it peaceful, secluded and private. The cottage is south-facing overlooking the garden with three covered terraces. It is planted with flowers and shrubs to attract birds and butterflies and there is always a chance of seeing deer roaming in the adjacent fields.

The centre piece of the garden is the swimming pool completely fenced and set in a large tiled patio, by the pool is another enclosed sun bathing area.

The village of St Barthelemy de Bellegarde is approx. 1km along a pleasant country lane where you will find a mini market, butchers, salle de fete, bar/restaurant which is also the post office. Within a 15min. drive is the Grande Etange of Le Jemaye (photo below left) which is a leisure lake supporting open air restaurants, children play areas, swimming (life guards in attendance), canoes and pedalos, lake side/forest walks and even a bird hide.

Our nearest main town is Montpon (a photo of the weekly flower market is shown below right) where all the large supermarkets and banks can be found. Montpon also has a leisure area along the banks of the river L'Isle with canoeing swimming etc.

Slightly farther afield are many interesting places to visit: Riberac, the old roman town of Perigueux, cosmopolitan Bordeaux, (pont pierre is shown below left) the very picturesque village of Aubeterre, the famous wine towns of St Emilion and Bergerac.

The area abounds with churches and chateaux and should you fancy a trip to the coast Royan (photo below right) and Archacon are within reasonable driving distance.
