The property is situated on top of a hill with magnificent views and is surrounded by a stone wall offering privacy and tranquillity. The gîte has been recently renovated to a high standard with chestnut wood floors, exposed stone walls and beams. Guests have access to a new heated swimming pool with a large terrace and sun loungers; in addition to the gîtes own private patio and garden.

The gîte is located close to local towns such as La Rochefocauld and Verteuil with their magnificent chateaux, markets and restaurants. Being based in the country but with easy access to the N10 motorway means that there is an abundance of activities available. If you like walking, cycling there are white lanes directly outside the property gates. Kayaking (photo below left) starts just a few kilometres away for the more adventurous whilst on the more relaxing days you can unwind at one of the numerous gourmet local restaurants.


In the local town (10 minutes away) there are shops including two supermarkets, chemist, boulangeries, restaurants, post office, tabac, etc. Angouleme (only 20 minutes from the gîte), Poitiers and Cognac all have many interesting things to see which includes shopping, museums, and galleries, visit the Cognac distilleries (photo below right) and historical architecture.

Further away you have the port of La Rochelle (photo below left) with its beautiful city centre and delicious sea food restaurants along the marina. Futuroscope (photo below right), Valley of the Monkeys (primate park), and Snakes Island are just some of the many family day trips.
