La Fargeotte is a large rural property, with courtyard parking and
gardens close to the main tourist routes (D32 & D47) from Perigueux
to Les Eyzies and Sarlat.
A large spacious building on 3 floors, with attached single storey
annexe, large garage, and barn which is currently employed as the
games room (pool table, table tennis etc) and secluded rear garden
terrace that backs onto the River Manaurie (NOT suitable for fishing).
The property was built in the traditional Perigordian style with
local stone and features wood parquet flooring as well as beamed
ceilings. gas central heating to the whole property.

with double bed, attractively decorated in the Charles Rennie
Macintosh style, and with wash basin and bidet
- Bedroom 3: Good size
twin room suitable for the young at heart with rear views
to countryside and with wash basin and bidet
- Large bathroom, with
bath/shower, washbasin & W.C. Further separate shower
room and separate W.C
- Utility room in the
annexe with automatic washing machine available for guests’
use. Gîte is also equipped with iron, ironing board
and hair dryer.

accessed via external stone steps from the enclosed front
garden, where there is a nice covered guest's breakfast
terrace

ample supply of garden chairs sunloungers
- Children's games &
equipment
- Secure space for car parking,
plus garage, also here is a lovely old stone water "well"
surrounded by beds of herbs and flowers.

The barn/games room has pool table, table
tennis, darts and table football, it has lighting and electric
points and serves guests and especially energetic kids well
during their stay. This leads to the rear garden terrace
where there is outdoor lighting, a large garden table with
chairs, barbecue and a pretty lawned area that backs onto
the small river manaurie that passes the house on its way
to join the River Vezere at Les Eyzies.
A nice relaxing spot for some privacy, planted with mature
shrubs and trees, it is ideal for guests to relax, have
a barbecue and a glass of wine, while the kids enjoy the
games room.
To the front of the property is a small enclosed pretty
garden with stone table and seats, this area is close to
the road, but is well served by mature hedges that give
this spot plenty of privacy.

La Fargeotte is within 10 minutes of 3 pretty picturesque
Dordogne towns, Les Eyzes (photo below
left), Le Bugue and Rouffignac.
Les Eyzies is the European capital of Prehistoric
Man, among it's many attractions are the Museum of Prehistory,
Grotto Du Grand Roc, and Canoe Hire on the River Vezere.
Le Bugue is the main town of the area, includes many different
shops and 4 supermarkets.
Golf is just 4Kms away, a Lakeside Beach
and Horse Riding are less than 20 minutes drive.

The Capital of Dordogne, Perigueux is less
than 30 minutes away, with it's many museums and Roman Sites.
The pretty tourist town of Sarlat is a
similar distance in the opposite direction, and Bergerac
is just 40 minutes away.

The river Dordogne can be reached
in about 20 minutes, and all the major tourist attractions of
the Dordogne are within 30 minutes drive.
Further afield, Bordeaux (Bordeaux catherdal
shown rght) can be reached within 90 minutes, the coast just
beyond is a further 15 minutes drive, while Limoges
and Toulouse are around 2 hours away. |

By Air:
International Airports can be found at Bergerac,
Limoges, Bordeaux and Toulouse, all of which have Hire Cars
available.
Paris is around 5 hours drive.

By Rail:
Small Station at Mauzens et Miremont, just 2/3 trains daily.Station
at Les Eyzies or Le Bugue, more frequent services.Large Station
at Perigueux.
|
By Road:
La Fargeotte is easily found, being midway between Perigueux
and Sarlat.
The A89 motorway is less than 20 minutes away, and we are
about an 8 hours drive from Calais. St. Malo can be reached
between 5 and 6 hours.
