Charming gîte in southern France, Aveyron, Midi-Pyrénées

Beautiful natural stone house in an absolutely calme situation on a property of 1 ha with a nice terrace. Here the silence is only disturbed by the noise of the birds and the water.

The house has a living room, 2 bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom on the first floor. Second floor two single beds. The house is built in a traditional style and decorated with character and warmth.

INTERIOR
  • The living-room is tastefully furnished with a leather lounge suite, dinner-table, buffet and woodstove. The living-room has opening doors to the terrace.
  • The kitchen is provided with a cooker, oven, fridge, coffeemaker, dishwasher and complete kitchen-inventory.
  • Downstairs there is 1 bedroom with a double bed and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds.
  • Upstairs there are 2 single beds.

 
EXTERIOR
  • La Barthe covers 1 ha. and is virtually walled entirely.
  • On one part of the grounds we have some cows grazing in the summer, on the other part mainly fruit-trees that give us a great harvest.
  • There is a sauna, which can be used for a small payment.

Domaine de la Barthe (photo left) is located on an ending road in the Aveyron, Monts de Levezou, bordering to the Parc Naturel Regional des Grands Causses and close to the Lac de Pareloup. Approximately 36 km from Millau and 125 km from Montpellier.

A lovely place to walk, rest and seek nature. We are easy to reach by the highway A75 (Paris/Clermond-Ferrand/Millau). The Mediterranean Sea lies on approx. 125 km., nearly one hour drive via the A75.

Walking, mountain biking, swimming, sailing, carting, parasailing, canoeing, rock climbing, rafting and horse-riding. The surroundings offer a wide variety of excursions and activities. To be recommended are, amongst others:

 

 
  • Parc Naturel Regional des Grands Causses
  • Lac de Pareloup
  • Gorges du Tarn et de la Dourbie (photo right)
  • Caves de Roquefort (photo below left) visit the caves and sample the famous Roquefort cheese
  • Grottes d ‘Aven Armand et de Dargilan
  • Micropolis
  • ...and the biggest land-viaduct of the world, viaduct of Millau, shown in photo below right

Flights into Montpellier (BA and Ryanair). Approximately 36 km from Millau and 125 km from Montpellier.

Nearby Rodez (ca. 35 km from La Barthe) is a little airport with connections from/to London Stansted (Ryanair).

The exchange day is on Saturday. Arrivals are always after 15.00 hours and departures before 11.00 hours.

Reservations will only be valid after receipt of the agreed down-payment.
