Le Grand Clos Hosts
Your bi-lingual hosts Steve and Chantal have been in the licensed
trade for 20 years in the UK.
Together they have successfully run 3 pubs, the most recent for
14 years in the heart of rural Wiltshire. Prior to that, Steve,
a professional chef, ran a restaurant in the South of France.
Together, they will give you an unforgettable holiday marked by
the culinary delights in addition to the quality golf.

Traditional cuisine
Your meals will be prepared using local produce, and will feature
traditional cuisine of Provence and other french classics.
As in other areas that border the Mediterranean, it is a cuisine based
on olive oil, olives, garlic, tomatoes and peppers all overlayed with
the wonderful herbs from the area. |

Challenging golf courses
When you become a guest of "Le Grand Clos" you will have
the privilege of playing on some of the most picturesque and challenging
golf courses in the South of France.
Situated less than an hour's drive from Le Grand Clos are Nîmes
Vacquerolles, Massane and La Grande-Motte.
Each course offers its own unique flavour and have all the features
a seasoned golfer expects. |
|
|
|
La Grande-Motte (photo below left) and
Massane hosted the European Tour Qualifying School in the
1990's until, to some people's dismay, it returned to Spain.
Nimes Vacquerolles (photo below right)
may be familiar to some as it played host to the Gard Open
in 2004. Your host Steve's comment, "I have played
all the courses for many years and would recommend them
all as tough challenging courses comprising all of the hazards."
Other courses such as Servannes, Pont-Royal, and France's
oldest golf course at Nimes Campagne are available upon
request.

In addition to golf, a wide range of other activities are
available to combine with your relaxing Mediterranean lifestyle
of al fresco gourmet meals and swimming pool (photo below).
During the heat of the sultry summer days what better than
a painting holiday? (instruction available on request.)
Le "Grand Clos" is surrounded by vineyards (photo
below), and tours of local Caves with tasting can be arranged. For
the more energetic, there are mountain biking and horse
riding tours right on the doorstep.

This area of the South of France is renowned for its natural
beauty and historical sites. The nearby Pont Du
Gard is a masterpiece of Roman engineering and
the town of Arles continues the Roman theme
with its famous arena.
Also not so far away is the town of Saint-Guilhem
le Désert (photo below right), listed among
the Plus Beaux Villages (most
beautiful villages) of France, and, since 1999 has been
classified as a Great National Site.
