The Bishop's Cottage is a light and
airy 17th century stone village house, sympathetically renovated,
in the heart of Nezignan l'Eveque, a beautiful village near Pézenas
in the South of France.
Nestling next to the ancient village church and lost among the vineyards
in this largely wine-producing area, the house provides comfortable
accommodation for a relaxing holiday in the sun.
The house, which is set on three floors, has beamed ceilings and
is well equipped, comfortably furnished and sleeps six people. An
original stone staircase winds its way up throughout the entire
house.

Nezignan l'Evêque is a friendly village located in
the heart of the beautiful Languedoc-Roussillon region of
southern France, nestling amongst endless vineyards, yet
only a stone's throw from miles of Mediterranean beaches.
Here can be found a range of village shops including a baker,
butcher, newsagent, grocer, post office, tourist office,
hairdresser, bar, hotel/restaurant and medical centre (the
church is shown below). Larger shops, supermarkets, cafes
and restaurants are located in nearby Pezenas (5 minutes
by car), which is not only famous for having been the home
of Moliere but also has a large Saturday market (photo below)
which is well worth a visit.
The surrounding area is a wine lover's paradise with a multitude
of local vineyards providing some excellent wines. Like
many French villages, Nezignan l'Eveque holds festivals
throughout the year where local wine and superb French hospitality
can be sampled.
