At La Confiance at Champ d’oeuf Sue and Chris have discovered the local markets, producers and suppliers of this beautiful region – the aptly named “Garden of France”.
With local meats, fish, vegetables and cheeses, your resident “Chef de Cuisine – Chris” will prepare and serve the tastes and specialities of this rural haven, using various cooking methods and styles including traditional farmhouse, flambé, barbecue, al fresco also raclette and fondue.

Enjoy a whole new dining experience while staying with us. Dining is Farmhouse style, all round one large table, meet people from all round the World while staying at La Confiance. Using the abundance of local game and farm produce, when in season, complemented by aperitifs, wine and traditional French “pain”.

La Confiance is a beautifully restored stone cottage dating back to the last century, with three large en suite bedrooms. The ground floor suite has a large double bedroom plus a living area, with a double sofa bed and an ensuite shower room, this could be suitable for people with slight disabilities. The 2 large first floor ensuite bedrooms can comfortably accommodate a family.

La Confiance is set in 2 acres of completely private garden. In the morning enjoy your continental style breakfast watching the birds and wildlife in our garden.
Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of our garden, sit and catch up on your reading, we have an extensive library, for you to choose from, or enjoy the many delights of the area.

We are close to the Chateaux and wineries of the Loire valley, and our local town Azay le Ferron has its own chateau set in acres of beautiful parkland, well worth a visit during your stay with us.

Approximately 2 miles from La Confiance, which is in the hamlet of Champ d'oeuf, lies the pretty town of Azay Le Ferron with its enclosed chateau (photo below left) and visitor centre – you will be able to get leaflets about local places to visit – in English at the visitor centre. The town has small supermarket (Petit Casino), boulangerie, boucherie, charcuterie, pharmacie, 2 brasserie/bars, tabac and post office – check with owners for opening times.

Le Blanc: Approximately 8 miles from Champ d'oeuf is the pretty town of Le Blanc (photo right), with several large supermarkets, a variety of shops, bars and restaurants, banks and post office (La Poste).

Martizay: Approximately 1 mile from Champ d'oeuf is the village of Martizay which is sited on the River Claise, enjoy a walk along the rivers edge and even take a picnic as there are tables provided. There is also fishing available on the river. The town has 2 small bar/restaurants, small supermarket and boulangerie. Martizay has a small local produce market on Wednesday morning.

Mezieres en Brenne: Approximately 10 miles from Champ d'oeuf is the picturesque town of Mezieres en Brenne with several restaurants, bars, cafes and visitors shops. Don’t forget to visit the visitor centre at Mezieres where you can arrange walks and other activities in the Brenne National Parc.

Futuroscope: Approximately 1 hours drive from us is the Futuroscope Theme Park (photo above right) a fantastic day out for both adults and children alike.
