We are situated on the edge of a small village in the peaceful,
rural area of the Lot Valley (the Lot valley is shown in
the photo right). The village is 17 north of Cahors, which
is a lively town with a food market twice a week and a larger
market fortnightly.

|
The lovely old town has many restaurants, pavement cafes and
boutiques plus several supermarkets for all your holiday shopping.
Have a walk through some of the alleys around the town or take
a ride on the “Petit Train”and discover some of
the lovely ancient buildings and their history.
The river Lot winds its way through the town, under spectacular
bridges and offers river boat rides, canoeing and kayaking.

Cahors is famous for its rich red wine, and there are plenty
of places where you can try and buy at your leisure. There
is also a large swimming complex on the edge of the river.
There are many places to visit a short drive away, the
Peche Merle Caves, the ancient town of Figeac, St. Cirq
Lapopie (below left), one of the most visited villages in
France with its houses hanging onto the edge of the cliffs.
Not to be missed is Rocamadour (below right), the spectacular
sanctuary village built on the sheer side of steep cliffs.
Rocamadour offers wonderful sightseeing, lovely shops for
all your gift buying and you can see the eagles in flight
over the magnificent valleys. For the less adventurous,
the Lot Valley is a wonderful place to relax and unwind,
away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
