Open all year round, La Chevaline
is set in its own 2 acre wooded grounds, and offers guests an ideal
location from which to explore the stunning countryside of the Aude
and Ariege regions.
The original 18th century farmhouse has been converted to provide
comfortable accommodation in three gites plus a detached house.

The four gites are all well equipped with kitchen areas containing
dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, gas cooker, toaster and
coffee filter machines.
Each has comfortable sofas and easy chairs and a CD/Cassette/Radio
unit together with an open fireplace. |

We offer a choice of two, two bedroom
gites sleeping 4 guests, a detached 3 bedroom house with
a large double, one twin and one bunk bedded room, and
a 4 bedroom gite with two double and two twin/triple bedded
rooms. All gites have at least one shower room & WC.
There is a hairdryer in each property.

La Chevaline enjoys a rural location and is surrounded by
fields. Each cottage has its own dedicated garden area equipped
with garden furniture and barbecue. We have our own bouledrome
which offers a shady retreat where you can try your hand at
petanque, table tennis or badminton.

Guests share access to our enclosed, large 12m x 5m swimming,
which is normally open from May to September, and a 3m x 3m
children’s paddling pool with terrace and sunbeds. A
children’s swing set is close by.
A small bar, serving beer, wine and soft
drinks and a selection of snacks is available for our guests
during the summer season.

La Chevaline is conveniently located at Fanjeaux between the
medieval cities of Carcassonne and Mirepoix. Castelnaudary,
the “home” of Cassoulet is just down the road
(la Grand Basin is shown below right) as
is the wine centre of Limoux, famous for the sparkling Blanquette
and Cremant de Limoux.

The
flat plains, Canal du Midi, rolling hills and mountains provide
an enormous variety of terrain for walkers and cyclists of
all levels.
Lovers of french markets are spoilt for choice in the area,
whilst local winemakers offer “dégustation”
in the numerous vineyards in the region.
Other activities include golf, go karting, horse riding, canoeing
& rafting all within a short drive.

The Mediterranean coast is only 50 minutes away and there
are several lakes within an hour drive where swimming, sunbathing
and water sports are available.
Prehistoric caves, spectacular gorges, Cathar castles (the
most famous of which, Carcassonne,
is shown left), duty free shopping in Andorra, the “ville
rose” of Toulouse, or a day trip to Spain have all
been enjoyed by our guests.

| Booking “weeks”
are either Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday. Guests
are asked to vacate the properties by 10.00 on the day of
departure.
Check in on arrival is from 15.00. Alternative changeover
days are available by arrangement, except during July &
August. Weekend and Short break holidays are welcomed subject
to availability.
Guests are asked to leave the property in
a clean and tidy condition.
We are unable to accept pets, unless by prior
arrangement.

Sunday.

| Prices are per
property per week, and are inclusive of household linen and
utility costs, apart from electricity which is charged pro-rata
between November and March.
A 25% deposit is required when booking with the balance to
be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival.
